I would like to introduce myself, my name is Michael Ratcliffe, and I have been training and teaching since 1975. I am a 4th Dan Black belt, and I have trained with some of the most experienced martial artist in the world. Over the years I have enjoyed teaching and training with many students both junior and senior, in various locations throughout Australia and the world. I have had some very interesting encounters over the years. As Karate is a Martial Art and it is very Important that self-control is developed in a progressive manner. It is extremely important the students not only respect others but also themselves. I make no apology for being strict and I expect my students to respect not only me but all other members of the class. I do not tolerate bad behavior or language and I will punish accordingly. Generally, after about one month training new students should know if they wish to continue training. I encourage you to then purchase your uniform club T-shirt and mittens. If you have any concerns or queries , please do not hesitate to contact me, and I will be only to happy to discuss your query with you. Gradings will be held throughout the year and we will only ask student to attend gradings once they have reached the required level.
