Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your use of Directory.com.au, operated by WWW.DIRECTORY.COM.AU PTY LTD (ABN 68 090 816 461) ("we", "us"). By using the site or submitting a listing you agree to them.

1. The directory

Directory.com.au is a curated Australian business directory. Listings are provided by businesses and reviewed by our team before publication, but we do not guarantee the accuracy, quality or availability of any listed business, and a listing (including Verified or Featured status) is not an endorsement. Always make your own enquiries before engaging a business.

2. Listings and review

• You may only list a business you own or are authorised to represent, and the details you submit must be true, current and lawful.
• Every submission and subsequent edit is subject to review. We may approve, reject, edit for formatting, recategorise or remove any listing at our discretion, including after publication.
• Keyword-stuffed names, misleading descriptions, unlawful content and duplicate submissions will be rejected.
• Rejected submissions can be corrected and resubmitted from your account.

3. Paid tiers

• Basic (A$4.95/year) is a yearly plan for a single listing — priority review and a second category.
• Featured (A$19.95/month) is a monthly plan applying to a single listing — the badge, phone display, homepage placement and enquiries.
• Marketing Plan (A$1,999/month) is a monthly plan bundling a Featured listing with a managed marketing service (SEO, SEM, social and content).
• Payment does not guarantee approval. If a paid listing is rejected and cannot reasonably be corrected, we refund the plan fee in full.
• The "Verified" badge indicates our team confirmed business details at the time of verification; it is not a continuing warranty.
• Plans do not renew silently — we notify you before expiry. Badge and placement benefits end if a plan lapses.
• Removal of a listing for breach of these terms does not entitle you to a refund.

4. Payments

Payments (including the credit card payment page) are processed by Stripe. Amounts are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable. Invoice payments are applied against the reference you supply.

5. Accounts

You are responsible for the security of your account credentials and for activity under your account. We may suspend accounts used for spam, fraud or abuse.

6. Acceptable use

You must not scrape the directory at scale, submit false claims for listings you don't control, attempt to bypass review, probe or disrupt the service, or use enquiry forms to send unsolicited marketing.

7. Intellectual property

The site, its design and its curated content are ours. You retain rights in the content you submit and grant us a licence to publish and promote it as part of the directory.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law (including the Australian Consumer Law, whose guarantees are not excluded), we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site or dealings with listed businesses. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. General
